Torbjörn Lööf


Torbjörn Lööf is CEO of the Inter IKEA Group whose head office is located in Delft, the Netherlands. The Inter IKEA Group has three core businesses: Franchise, Range & Supply and Industry.

Torbjörn started at Inter IKEA Systems B.V., the worldwide franchisor and owner of the IKEA Concept in 2013. Up until 2016 he successfully headed the restructuring of the IKEA franchise system which lead to a consolidation of over 70 different IKEA companies into one group with a clearer direction and a better position to support IKEA retailing in almost 50 countries.

Torbjörn joined IKEA in 1989 as a purchaser and in the following 27 years he held a number of leading positions and roles in different areas of the IKEA business. Before his present position, he led the development of the IKEA offer and the IKEA supply chain as the Managing Director at IKEA of Sweden AB.

From being a small entrepreneurial company in Småland in southern Sweden, selling furniture through a mail-order catalogue, IKEA has grown to become one of the most successful home furnishing brands in the world. Reaching and touching hundreds of millions of people and influencing their view on how to live a better life at home. In IKEA's financial year 2018 IKEA welcomed 957 million visitors to its stores and 2,5 billion IKEA website visits.

In a fast-changing customer and retail environment IKEA continues to develop in order to reach more of the many people all around the world. Inspired by the words of IKEA founder, Ingvar Kamprad, “Most things still remain to be done. A glorious future!”, Torbjörn’s focus now is to develop a better IKEA that is designed for the future.

Torbjörn has Swedish and Italian origins and was raised in Pjätteryd, a small village outside Älmhult, in south of Sweden. He has three grown-up sons and lives in the Netherlands with his wife.
